A Golden Gift from Nature

If there are no clouds on the horizon, the setting sun reflects off of the windows on the building across the street and casts a beautiful gold-orange light into my apartment. This only happens during spring and autumn and only for around 10 minutes, so I always make sure to stop what I’m doing to watch the sunlight come and go.

I think we’re the only apartment that gets this special sunset light because it’s being reflected at a perfect 90° angle, which is such a gift and one I try not to take for granted. It’s so magical to be able to sit in the silence, with no other lights on, and let myself slow down and be present during that moment.

I try to be aware of the gifts nature gives. Just the other day, a beautiful falcon swept overhead at the park maybe 10 feet away, and although it was a fleeting moment I felt so grateful to have been able to see it.

Sometimes the simplest things are the most beautiful.
